USFLUENT® COMMUNITY · AMERICAN ENGLISH QUESTIONS
Ask a real question about American English.
Sometimes one sentence creates more confusion than an entire grammar chapter. You may wonder whether an expression sounds too direct, how to enter a business conversation politely or why native speakers choose one phrase over another. Ask Jeff focuses on these practical communication questions.

THE PRACTICAL GUIDE
How it works
What to expect before you submit a request through USFLUENT Community.
01
What kind of questions belong here?
Ask about everyday greetings, pronunciation, word choice, interviews, meetings, customer calls or polite disagreement. The most useful questions include the situation: who you were speaking to, what you wanted to say and why the response felt uncertain.
02
Examples of useful questions
“Is ‘I disagree’ too strong in a US team meeting?” “Why do Americans answer ‘How’s it going?’ so briefly?” “How should I ask a client to clarify instructions without sounding unprepared?” These are contextual questions: the best answer depends on tone, audience and purpose.
03
How submissions are handled
Send your question through the Community form and verify your email. Submissions are reviewed by a human before any public use. A helpful question may inspire a moderated Q&A or article, but submitting does not guarantee a personal answer or publication.
04
Read existing free answers first
The USFLUENT Articles & Insights section already contains concise notes on American phrases, professional communication, interviews and listening. These articles are public and do not require a student account. For structured, personalised teaching, explore the lessons and programmes separately.
